What is white lotus seed?
Lotus seeds are the seeds of plants in the genus Nelumbo, particularly the species Nelumbo nucifera. It is of great importance to East Asian cuisine and is used extensively in traditional Chinese medicine and desserts.

As in title, the seed pods were a little larger than standard glass marbles, and just as hard. I debated pounding them with a hammer because I don’t have a mortar and pestle. A friend suggested soaking them overnight. That might work. His, from another company were smaller and softer, more easy to grind by hand.
Used the lotus seeds in a soup. It's easy to cook and has a good texture and flavor. Definitely recommend this item to everyone.
