Yunnan Baiyao is a well-known traditional Chinese medicine that originated in Yunnan Province, China. The product is now used worldwide by humans as well as for pets. Yunnan Baiyao is available in two different packaging colors: green box and blue box. Many customers have asked us the difference between the two versions. In this article, we will quickly explain the difference.
Green Box - The original formula manufactured by Yunnan Baiyao Group. This blister pack contains 16 capsules and 1 red pill. The green box packaging is in commerce in China as well as most of the world. This has been the same packaging for decades and have the most brand recognition.
Blue Box - The USA exported version of Yunnan Baiyao. As with the green box, this blister pack also contains 16 capsules and 1 red pill. The blue packaging was an alternative to the original formula and was changed for USA distribution. The blue box is more expense than the green box due to upcharge by the authorized distributor.
In conclusion, the green box and blue box both contain the same amount of capsules and with the same intended usage. Due to longevity and proven result of the original formula, we usually recommend the green box of Yunnan Baiyao.
